Wide Limestone Entrance Steps, Photographed on Site

Caught part way through installation in low sun, this is a broad shallow flight of reclaimed limestone entrance steps, each tread run in long pieces across the full width so the joints fall into a quiet vertical rhythm. The stone is a cool pale cream with fine linear striations and faint darker banding along some of the fronts. Fresh cobble paving has just been laid at the foot of the flight. Available to buy, steps of this width suit front entrances, garden terraces, civic and hotel approaches, and any facade needing a generous run rather than a narrow flight.
