Antique Limestone Stair Flight in a Beamed Villa Hall

Installed in a double height hall beneath heavy dark timber beams, this reclaimed limestone stair climbs a plain stucco stringer in thick blocky treads whose ends are left rough and irregular, so each one steps out from the wall casting a slightly different shadow. A slim black iron balustrade curves down to a solid rounded bottom step seated on the travertine floor, and the stone is a warm cream close in tone to the paving below.
